Annual 2

After beating Shocker once again, Spider-Man is informed by lawyer Franklin "Foggy" Nelson to take him to the police station so his charges stick. Arriving at the station, Spidey meets with DeWolfe who informs him of a gangster named The Kangaroo, telling him the police can't act until he slips up. Spider-Man tracks down Kangaroo but finds another Super-Hero has beaten him to the punch: Daredevil. As his alter-ego, the Kangaroo reached out to hire him as his defense attorney, which sparked Matt Murdock's interest. The brawl is interuppted when another vigalante The Punisher shows up.

Having learned of the Kangaroo's rising in prison, Frank Castle broke out to eliminate him. Punisher is soon attacked by a recently revivied Moon Knight, who escaped from police custody after waking up from his coma. The police soon arrive, with Spider-Man webbing up both Moon Knight and Punisher and Daredevil taking down Kangaroo. Jean DeWolfe arrives, commending Spider-Man on a job well done, however the Punisher breaks free of the web fluid and kills DeWolfe. Spider-Man viciously attacks Punisher, telling him that DeWolfe was a dirty cop and Daredevil confirming Punisher's reasoning. Disgruntled, they all leave, with Moon Knight also escaping during the chaos. Arriving at his appartment, Moon Knight is confronted by Daredevil, who proposes an alliance to take down Kingpin.

Did You Know?

  • Kangaroo is a minor antagonist in this arc, but he is technically the first super-villain defeated by the second Ultimate Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Both Daredevil and Punisher first appeared in the same arc in the Ultimate Team-Up series, with Spider-Man also being involved as well. The story involves Punisher going after the cops who killed his family, with Daredevil and Spider-Man attempting to stop his rampage. Punisher also appears in the Carnage arc, with Peter taking him down in order to save a minor super-villain named Boomerang. Later on, Punisher would accidently shoot Spider-Man, who took a bullet for Captain America during a battle between the Ultimates and Avengers. This factor would ultimately lead to Peter Parker's death.
  • Daredevil makes his first official apperance in the Ultimate Spider-Man book, first appearing in the Ultimate Team-Up series. In contrast to his prime counterpart's relationship with that Spider-Man, this Daredevil is more aggressive and dismissive towards Spider-Man, who he sees as a child not ready for the crime-fighter life. Daredevil was killed during Ultimatum, and is replaced by Raymond Conner, who developed similar powers and trained by the original's mentor, Stick. He and Stick would later turn into vampires and were killed by Captain America.
